Essential Vaccinations
The health and protection of our Ragdoll kittens is a top priority. All kittens and adult cats in our program receive the core vaccinations recommended by veterinary professionals. These typically include protection against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, panleukopenia (FVRCP), and rabies. These vaccines help guard against serious and highly contagious feline illnesses.
Kitten Immunization Timeline
Ragdoll kittens begin their vaccination series at approximately 6 to 8 weeks of age. Booster vaccines are then administered at scheduled intervals every few weeks until the kitten reaches around 16 weeks old. This gradual vaccination process helps strengthen the kitten’s developing immune system as maternal immunity naturally decreases.
Rabies Protection
Rabies vaccination is administered according to veterinary guidance and local legal requirements, usually between 12 and 16 weeks of age. Future boosters are scheduled based on the specific vaccine used and the recommendations of the attending veterinarian.
Additional Preventive Vaccines
Depending on lifestyle, environment, or the presence of other cats in the home, additional vaccines such as feline leukemia virus (FeLV) may be recommended. We discuss these options with our veterinarian to ensure each kitten receives appropriate preventive care based on potential exposure risks.
